Artists Chosen for 2025 Festival

The 2025 Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival is delighted to announce the 2025 artist selection. As always, the artists were chosen by lottery. This year we will welcome both new and returning artists for performances in NIFF’s new East City home, the Peterborough Theatre Guild.

Returning artists this year:

Juicebox Theatre  (Winnipeg) with their play, “Mutt”

Centre for Indigenous Theatre (Toronto) with “Whistling Pine (A Dark Comedy) by Chris Mejaki

John-Paul Chalykoff (Sault Ste. Marie) and his puppet friends with “Songs from Gichi-Gamiing”

New to NIFF Audiences are two exciting solo performances:

Oshkagoojin Theatre Projects (Winnipeg) with “Niin Anihinaabekwe”

Indian Way Theatre (Akwesasne) with “My Good Friend Jay”

Completing the programming from near and far are:

Local group 3 Soul Goddess with their drama “Postcards from Colonization”

Subi-Baba-Yi Dilalan from Cameroon with music and stories in “People of the Forest” (to be confirmed)


A full schedule for the June 19-22 festival, including special events and vendors, will be available in early May and ticket sales will start in late May.
